- About these paintings: Each labyrinth painting is an original creation using several image styles of
labyrinths (including the Chartres Cathedral model, the classical and the maze).
- The inspiration for expressing and painting labyrinth images as art forms evolved from a deep
core understanding within a spiritual, psychological and social context. The use and choice of
color has a major impact on these paintings as well as the contrasting and complimentary
center symbols. I gather inspiration from many sources including the color variations found in
nature; apply various painting and crafting techniques (using different papers, paints and inks),
an application of a labyrinth image to the papers; defining a unique center and finishing with
several coats of a protective glaze.

As an ancient symbol and image, the labyrinth gives us the opportunity to uncover deep spiritual significance in our lives. As we look at the image of a labyrinth, we are instantly drawn in by its twists and turns that mirror the inner body design. We can see the shape of the labyrinth abundant in nature – from spider webs to the intricacies of seashells and flowers. Using the labyrinth images, we recognize the journey of growth as we follow the spiraling path – as if returning to the source of life. |
